Automechanika Istanbul is the most influential trade fair in the field of automobile manufacturing, sales and maintenance in the middle Eurasian region. 2001, the first Automechanika was held in Istanbul at the same time as the Turkish Petroleum Industry Exhibition, which has been held in Istanbul for eighteen years so far.
Since 2005, the show has been jointly organized by Messe Frankfurt and Hannover Istanbul. The strong combination of these two world-class exhibition companies has made the exhibition a greater success, and the subsequent sessions of the exhibition have shown considerable growth in exhibitors, professional audience and display area; the last exhibition area reached 43,845 square meters, the number of visitors reached 29,811, and the number of exhibitors and exhibiting brands reached 1,396.
According to statistics, about 40% of the exhibitors signed orders with customers, and more than 96% of the exhibitors were satisfied with the exhibition and said they would continue to participate.
Turkey is located at the connection point of Europe, the Middle East and Russia, with unique geographical conditions. As the world’s sixteenth largest economic power, Turkey’s automobile exports totaled about 5.7 billion U.S. dollars. At the same time, the domestic consumption of cars is also growing rapidly, with the number of cars owned amounting to 763,186 (58% of which are imported). Many of the world’s leading automobile brands have established joint ventures in the region, and the growth of the production and consumption markets has led to the rapid growth of the Turkish automotive spare parts market.
